I am going through the exact same thing right now. My husband and I just separated a month ago, and this is the 5th time! Luckily my kids are babies still, but you are right, it does effect everyone involved. It's to be expected for the kids to act up because they are used to routines. Children THRIVE on routines. So when the routines they are used to (no matter how hectic it may be, it's none-the-less still a routine) are uprooted and changed, different behavior is to be expected. My daughter Hailey is not listening to me at ALL right now, and I am like at my witts end with my little red headed warrior.

My suggestion, try as BEST as possible to develop a routine where ever you are staying. It will make them feel more secure, and given time, you should see improvements with their behaviors. I hope this helps some, and know that you are not alone, we are in the same boat!

Good Luck,

Mommy to Matthew, Hailey, & Isabellah
