My son is going to be eight in August, I had him when I was 17. His father and I are finally getting married after nine years of being togother. We are talking about having more children now that we are older. Do you think he is too old for a brother or sister?

I dont think so. I have two kids, a boy and girl. My daughter is 2 and my son is about 6 weeks now. It is cute the way that she interacts with him. However, there is some jealousy but she is soon getting used to the idea that he is not going back to the hospital...he is with us for good. I dont think that it really matters how far apart you have them, there will be some sort of jealousy. All that matters is if they are both happy and that you and your husband get to spend so time with them as a family, whether one on one or family time as a whole. That is just my personal opinion.

That's not too far apart for sure! My cousin and his little sister are 12 years apart. He loves her! She gets on his nerves sometimes because she's 5 right now, but that happens at any age.

Definitely NOT! I have several friends who are 5 years or more apart in age from their siblings and they have great relationships with them! Sure it's gonna be hard cos he has been the only child for 8 years but it will be easier to get him involved with baby/babies and hopefully lead to a very strong bond between them!

I don't think so. Me and my sister are almost 7yrs apart and me and my soon to be hunsband want one and my daughter will be 7 and we haven't started trying yet. I think it's nice to have them farther apart because then the 2nd on will get alot of 1 on 1 time while the oldest is at school. But that's just my personal opinion. It's all in what works for you.
