HELP! 5 month old son and maybe pregnant?!?

I had my son June 3rd. I tried breastfeeding, but it was too much for me to handle with no support from his father. Lucky for me (sarcasm) that means my period was just right around the corner! I had my first period about 6 weeks after I gave birth, and it has surprisingly been pretty normal since. I have had it every 28 to 30 days. However, by that timeline, I should have started last Thursday. I am now on day 36 and have had no signs of starting soon. Now, I'm freaking out that I may be pregnant again! I took two tests three days ago, both negative, and another today, negative as well. Last time I was pregnant, my test came back positive after just 1 day late. Is it possible that my period is just being super irregular all of a sudden? Or is it more likely that I am pregnant?

First of all, congratulations on your little one from June! I'm sorry that breastfeeding didn't work out for you, I have done formula with my two and so I have never had the pleasure/pain of finding out what breastfeeding is like. Second of all, I am no expert on the fact that you may or may not be pregnant However, it seems to me (and I am a pretty regular period person) that about twice a year (every 5-6 months) a period seems to change to those of us who are fairly regular. Whether it be from a change in our schedules (starting school, new job, mother group, etc.) our periods tend to sync with those women with whom we spend time with. Also the months of the year have different number of days so I believe that even when we are the 28 to 30 day people it has to change. Recently mine changed and I waited a bit before it started, also wondering what was going on, but it started eventually. I had my baby 9 months ago so I know the worries of the possibility of so soon! Obviously pregnancys are not the same every time but if you got a positive test after 1 day late I would think that with 3 coming back negative you probably just need to wait a little longer!
Wishing you the best either way!
