I had the same issue! I was on the depo shot for around a year, and then I didnt get a period for two years afterwards! I thought we would never get kids! I think it is dangerous.

I was on Depo a few years before getting pregnant for about a year. I didnt get any periods while on it.

i got one shot then didnt get a period for 2 years only to have doctor after doctor tell me it was normal. finally found one that figured out it caused some problems for me fertility wise. depo is dangerous and i hope it will get pulled off the market some day

I'm so glad that I am not the only one! I bled irregularly for six months, even after not going back for the second shot after three months.

You know i don't know why they use depo it does stop your period. You might want to discuss iwth your doctor because i was on it for 2 years only to have a doc tell me that no one should be on it that long and that its so very unhealthy.

That is when i got mirena the iud. I dont think anything that can completely stop a period is good for you period. Its not natural.

You might want to talk to your doctor and make sure if your planning on being on it. When you get off it, its like hell it takes months for your body to get back to a normal cycle as well. i am glad i'm off depo

I know of women on the depo shot and some have told me they get maybe 1 or 2 periods a year. I think the shot has different effects on different people.

if your breast feeding it could be due to that as well i never had the depot shot but my doctor told me you pretty much stop having your period

I did the depo before i had any kids and i hated it. I bled for most of the 6 months i was on it onlye maybe 1 1/2 months of not bleeding total. It is however completely normal to stop having your period. Honestly its not needed to actually have it believe it or not. If you have got tests saying you arent pregnant i wouldnt be worried. I am on the Implanon witch is a small stick type thing they stick under the skin in your arm witch last for 3 years i got it a month after my daughter was born (june 26th 2011) and i bled for 2 weeks then just stopped and havent bled since. It uses the same type of horomone as the depo. The only reason you would get your period on the pill or patch or ring is becuz each of those methods have a week break from the horomones with the depo, implanon and uids you dont so you wouldnt get your period normally after a while or sometimes right away.

I was on the depo a long time ago and I did the same thing. In the beginning I bled like crazy then I stoped. I would randomly spot but for the most part I did not bleed until I stiped taking it. But if your concerned call your doc to double check...
