i found out i had gall stones 3 months after having my twin boys. my doctor didnt seem to think it was anything to worry about so left it. at the time i didnt have any symptoms and they were found accidently when the doctor was checking my c-section scar because i thought it was infected. turns out as soon as i found out i had gall stones i started getting symptoms. i was feeling very sick and in alot of pain so i was refered to a surgeon who told me i should have been reffered as soon as they found them because mine were small and travelling down my bile duct. i am now going in for surgery in the morning. i have tried diets and nothing has worked so unfortunantly surgery is the way i have had to go. hope you work it out!

I agree with Bea. I was diagnosed almost 2 years after my first child. I wound up in the ER because I was vomiting and in so much pain. I was told that night if the pain didn't stop and I kept vomiting they would take me to surgery right then. I didn't realize how serious having gallstones could be. Evidently, they can block something and cause serious problems. I had the surgery and came home the same day-it was laprascopic. I was out of work 2 weeks and then some minor restrictions for another 2 weeks but I was fine. Before the surgery I was on Vicodin for the pain and with a baby and work...well didn't want to take them unless it was last resort. And if you're breastfeeding, you wouldn't be able to take anything stronger than Tylenol.

i found out i had gall stones when i was 5 months pregnant with my little girl, the attacks were VERY painfull, unfortunetly the only way i got rid of them was surgery,i was terrified of having my gall bladder removed but looking back now it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be,i tried a lot of different pain killers and nothing worked, tried not to eat fatty foods but that didn't help either,so im sorry 2 say the only thing that helped was surgery..
