Does eating a lot of white sugar everyday harm my unborn child?

As long as you don't have high blood pressure or gestational diabetes you should be fine. When you eat to much sugar your pancreas knows to produce more insulin which helps break the sugar down so you can use it for energy. When you don't produce enough insulin (gestational diabetes) then your child could be born to big, have growth problems, become at risk for diabetes in the future, or be an overweight or obese child/adolescent/adult ect. There are also risk factors for yourself but next time just be honest with your doctor about it. They don't judge...they just try to help.
