I'm a 27 yr young mother. My son is 3yrs young. He is the love and joy of my life. I dont know if this question has been asked but why do kids continue to be a terrible 2 when there 3 yrs young. My son has so much energy. He is on the move from the time he wakes up and when he goes to bed. His bed time is 9pm but he never goes to bed then he will continue to get up and ask for a kiss or hug. and he will do that for about 2 hrs, and then he is sleep if we are lucky. Please help this mother out.

I agree with Jamie, dont say a word, just pick him up and put him back in his bed. dont give him the attention otherwise he will keep doing it. Hes just testing boundaries to see what he can get away with.

well they say terrible two's because thats when it begins. for me my son got out of that phase after the age of four. your son constantly gets up because he doesnt want to go to bed. if you want him to stay send him right back as soon as he gets up. i know it's tempting to kiss and hug him back but you cant because he's playing you. he has to know that you mean business. when you say bedtime its bedtime. i went through the same thing with both of my kids. my youngest is two now and she tried something similar. her thing was going to the bathroom. i caught on real quick, but be careful because once they realize that what they're doing doesn't work anymore they'll try something else. no matter what stick to your rules. children need consistency

My son is getting close to 5 and still gets up all the time. He doesn't take naps anymore and that helps.
I agree with Jamie also. Just keep sending him back to bed. And my son started to grow out of that Terrible 2 phase around 4 years old. He still has his moments, but not as often or as bad.
