I went to wic today to get my son's formula coupons. I had him on similac advanced now wic will not cover similac. They only cover enfamil. Is enfamil and similac comparable will my son know the difference? Im a first time mom so if im nervous for no reason just tell me.

My son switched formulas all the time. He would drink whatever I gave him without any digestive issues. I remember the first time my milk supply dried up and I had to give him formula. Horrible day. My mom had me so terrified that I was going to give him colic because I was switching him from breast to formula. I think if your child has had no issues on similac, he will do fine on regular enfamil. AND if you look at the lables, emfamil is now the better formula any way. My WIC paid for both, where are you that they won't anymore?

i had that problum with my son i tryed to give him the enfamil and he dident like it at all so i switced back to similac but every baby is diffrent and he might take to it i would try cuz when ur a new mom take what you can for free and if he doesnt like it switch him back trying something new will not affect his helth and enfamil is not a bad brand of formula alot of moms and doctors recomend it it just depends on what ur son likes

When you're a first time mom, there's no such thing as nervous for no reason. As long as your son doesn't have any issues with formula, he will be fine. There isn't really a huge difference between brands as long as it's the same TYPE of formula (regular, soy, etc.). I don't think you have anything to worry about. And if he does have a weird reaction, call your doctor. I got wic for my son too, and wic will cover any formula if the the doctor prescribes it!

Wic is very good about making sure your baby gets what it needs. I had to switch formula's before and it didn't quiet work so i called about 4 days after the switch and they helped me to pick a different kind. They will help you to try and find the one that works best. so give it a couple days see how your baby does and if it seems like it is just not working then give them a call and they will help!

You have the right to be nervous, my sons' formula was changed alot and it concerned me because of digestive problems, ALWAYS remember to talk to your doctor about the problems with the WIC office he will be able to help, and the doctor can sign a statement stating you need a special formula...ALWAYS speak up..
