I've started to cook my own baby food at home and then chop it up in a blender. I've made peas, green beans, carrots, chicken, etc. My daughter will not eat it, she gags actually; I have to mix it with some of her baby food to liquify it more for her to tolerate it. Is this going to be a problem in the future? She's 9 months old now. I don't know if she doesn't like the taste of it, or if it's the texture. I don't know what to do?

Add water to the blender (Lots more than you think you will need) and hit puree. Also, babies tend to like sweet flavors... banana's, apples (you can bake them in the oven with water until soft, then puree, my boys loved this), squash, zuchinni... these you cut in half, drizzle with a little olive oil so they stay moist, rub in all over, then bake until soft. After it's cooled off, you can just scoop out the insides with a spoon. It's so easy. The more water you put in while blending, the more liquid the consistency. Hope this helps! =)

It's probably just the texture. Try and get it as close to the same texture her jar food is at. You can add breast milk or formula to help get the texture right. Also the jar food tends to be a little sweeter sometimes then what you might be making. So it just might take a little bit for her to get use to. Good luck and just keep attempting it! Eventually she'll get use to it:o)
