My 4 year old whines all the time. I get so sick of listening to it, and i have no idea how to get her to stop. I dont want to tell her to stop crying because i dont want her to think that crying is a bad thing, but she does it for no reason sometimes. I dont know if its for attention or what. And if shes not crying shes whining. Its so frUsTratINg!!! I need some good tips. Please help me.

I have a four year old daughter who is a little on the dramatic side, so everything is a big deal. I understand your frustration. There are a couple things I do, first of course if there's nothing wrong I make her go fuss in her room you may not be able to stop it but you don't have to listen to it either. On a side not I feel the same way about crying, my kids are free to cry IF there is a reason but I have madeit very clear that it is not an appropriate way to get my attention. Second, let her know that if she wants your attention that is not the way to get it and all shehas to do is come talk to you. Third, make sure when she does come to you, you are there for her even if it's just to aknowledge that you know she's there. Lastly don't let her take over, you're the mom and you need to make sure that it's very clear to her that certain behavior is unacceptable. All kids need is love, attention, and boundries. Alot of parents today don't believe in boundries but they crave them it makes them feel safe and loved. Hope this helps and stay strong, those four year old little girls are tough cookies to crack.

If my daughter whines I send her to her room until she stops and wants to talk to me normally and I dont give her anything she asks for while whining. If shes crying tell her you dont want to hear it and go to her room, when shes done crying she can come out.
