I have three kids ages 8, 3, and 19 months. My husband and I NEED a vacation. I have arranged a 2 night getaway for us in a few weeks and im not worried so much about the older two but my 19 month old is very clingy to mommy and still nurses at night some. Im working on weaning him.

It makes me nervous to think of leaving him but my plan is to let them stay with grandparents. My mom is going to come stay at our house so they have familiar surroundings and my husbands parents are 5 mins away and said theyd help too.

Am I nuts to worry? Or do you think 19 months is too young to go away for 2 nights? Opinions?

Its normal to worry not matter what age your kids are. Its not as if you dont trust the people you have asked to watched them, its just part of being a mom.

We left my son for 2 nights when he was 3 months old. He stayed with my mom, who he knows very well, and there weren't any problems. I think if he knows your mom well, he will be fine, especially if they are still staying at your house. There may be some tears when you leave, but if your mom sticks to your normal routine, he will be fine. Don't feel guilty for getting away to take some time for yourselves!
