Oh thank you so much Tracy I was feeling like I was alone on trying to break my son's bed wetting habit at his age. I do have to break the drinking at night a few hours before bed time because when i use that skill of him not drinking before bed it worked a few times, I will keep track of it.

My son potty trained at 2 1/2 during the day but had a horrible time at night also. I tried waking him up and he was such a sound sleeper that he literally would not wake up even when I would pick him up and carry him into the bathroom, which is why he wet his bed for so long. My son is 8 years old now and finally just stopped wetting the bed about 8 months ago. It is normal he was just such a heavy sleeper he had a hard time waking himself up. I do still tell him every night to make sure he pees before he gets in bed. That will of course also help. But do not feel bad!!! He is normal and I do not believe that it is anyone's fault at all!! Just throw a pull up on him and believe me he will grow out of it eventually. No reason to stress! :)

Is he still in pull-ups? We had this problem with my finances 4 year old son. He started sleeping all through the night and peeing to bed. He also would hide sometimes during the day and go poo in his underwear. We believe it had to do with feeling not secure and bouncing from home to home. That was part of the problem. His mother then finally came out and said she has him in pull-ups so she does not have to deal with him at nights(in which angered us). Because he was really good at waking us up and going pee and all of a sudden he started peeing to bed.nanyways, we fixed this and she agreed to stop being lazy and he went back to his usual waking up and telling us. His pooping his underwear thing stopped too. When I was a child, I peed to bed until I was13 years old. Embarrassing as it was, it was not my fault. My bladder was not mature ... Slowly matured. The bladder is slow on giving response to the brain to wake you up to go pee which results in peeing to bed. I suggest waking him up a few times in the night nd ask if he has to pee, if not keep reminding him before he goes to bed to go pee. Limit his drinks before bed and limit his drink at night to half a cup of water. If that does not work, talk to a doctor. Good luck

My son has had the same problem. After seeing a doctor & specialist both have told me that it's typical in boys. That he'll out grow it.
