Forget the bottle, why not try a sippy cup, they make some for his age. This way you arent later trying to get him off the bottle.

I agree with the sippy cup thing. My son was drinking out of a sippy cup at 7 months and never used a bottle. The transition may take a few weeks though, so try and be patient and consistent.

He is old enough to start a sippy cup...they can start at 6 months. Maybe he'll do better with that!!

Sometimes it helps to get the breast completely out of the picture. Have Dad or Grammy or someone else he knows well give him the bottle while you leave the room, or the house (did you know they can smell your milk 20 ft away?). Good luck!

hello, try using different bottles. I used Tommee Tippe closer to nature when weaning my daughter and it worked a treat. They were also the only bottles that my neice would take from, because of the closeness to the look and feel of a real breast. Also some babies this age just wont take from a bottle, you can try a sipper cup and see if he likes that. Just shop around until you find one he likes, also try some different formulas until you find one he likes the taste of. Goodluck and believe me he will get there eventually.

Put the bottle nipple right near your breast and when he goes for you, get the bottle in there instead! -- If baby is hungry, baby will eat. I know that's hard to swallow but it's the truth. - Good Luck with him and new baby!!
