My 13 month old daughter cries constantly because she's not getting her way (thanks to her grandparents) now she's starting to slap me and throw her toys in my face. =0 what to do?

When she throws the toys in a firm voice say "no, we don't throw our toys" and then take the toy away. She may cry or scream that is ok.....let her. She is upset and expressing that, but you are also teaching her that throwing is not ok and if you throw then you lose the toy.....consequences to our actions. For the slapping, hold her hand and say in a firm voice, "No we don't hit. That is owe." Sometimes I would also hold the hand for awhile (30 sec. to 1 min.) like a form of time out. This way the slapping means the consequence is having her hand held for awhile. They don't like that either. The crying because she does not get her way just ignore. When she realizes that crying does not get her way she will start to cry less.
