Find a way to be stern and stick to it. Both parents have to be in this together b/c if one isn't then they know who they can push buttons with and etc. My mom tells me to pick the battles I want to with my son. After all, I am the adult and he isn't.

I tried to make my son sit and stand in corners and that never worked for me. I get down on my knee and bring him to me and i talk to him at his level so he dont feel inferior to me. I almost whisper so if he is screaming he has to stop to listen to me and he actually calms down. give it a try and good luck

my boys were what you call room wreckers which meant if I put them in their rooms for a time out they would simply destroy them. The only thing that ever worked for me at home was supper nannies naughty chairs. They each had one in plain sight of where I would be and they would have to sit there or I put them back there everytime they got up until they could say they were sorry, and tell me why they were in the naught chair/spot whatever. But they have to acknowledge why they are there!!!!! In public no matter where we were if they had a fit we just simply left, The hardest part about all of it is follow through, leaving the store all the time is inconvienent but it's what I had to do, and sitting in nauhgty chairs they cry, scream, and make you feel horrible but if you back down even once it will never work . That's all I got and it may take a while, but it paid off. Also when ever you start a new way of disciplining kids are really good for following the rules for a bout a week and then they really start testing you!! You just have to stay with it and not back down.
