i would try going to a mommy and me group. most only meet once a week and that way you can meet other mom and they child can play! my boys love it. i feel from my exp. that kids at all ages need to be around other kids! at least from a year old on. hope that helps!

Read you local paper. There was a story I happened to find out a PRAM walking group had started along the beachfront. I have been going for the last 6 weeks and we have all started becoming friends, even the kids have. The oldest is 18months and my son is the youngest at 12months. Also the local library happened to hold nursery rhyme time for under 2 yr olds. The kids don't seem to interact so young, but y ou can tell they enjoy it as they all stop making noise when we all sing the nursery rhymes. It was good just to start doing that and see other mothers with similar aged kids.

How old is your child? Babies don't need to socialize (and shouldn't be left or exposed to large groups of children often) until about the age of 3. Baby should learn eveything he needs to know about socializing from you until that age, it also raises stress levels for children to be repeatedly thrown in a group of children. That being said, if it's every once in a while and just a child or two, have you thought of taking your child to the local park? I take my daughter there (or did until winter here) once or twice a week during the day and met many mothers and children her age there. The great part is if there are no children there, the two of you don't get bored because there's so much to do! Best of luck!

Thank you so much..i will try the library and what kind of programs they offer. The library is just down the street of where I live so it might be perfect if they offer what i'm looking for.

Some times the library has programs for the little ones. I know that ours has a program for mommy and infant and toddler and so on and so on. I feel for you though we just moved to Idaho I don't know a whole lot of people either but try that then you can meet other moms with the same prob that you have. I don't like day cares to many sickness.
