Me and my partner have just split up and i've moved back to my moms. My son has started to become very naughty lately and not as happy. What can i do for it not to effect him as much.

My son is 16 months, and seems to be acting the same way. Mothers tend to be alot more gentle with there children, and men usually play rough with there sons, and it is something lil boys look forward too just like they look forward to your tenderness....you will have to try to play MOM and DAD alot more if he doesnt see his father much. Wrestle with him on the ground and throw him up in the air like Daddy did, they need the best of both worlds, even if Dads in the picture a day or so a week, the rest of the time its up to us single MOMs. I started doing this with my Son and it works...he needs his snuggle with MOM time as much as the tossing in the air and swinging around by his legs. I used to cringe when his dad would do it, but my son would scream with delight and ask for more...now Im playing both roles...and it seems to calm him down...hope this works for you!!

Thanks. He sees his dad as much as possible, but his Dad has been a bit difficult and i think that is rubbing off on my son. Hopefully fingers crossed my little boy will cheer up and go back to his normal self :-)
