trying using a soft blanket or comforter, it could be that he doesnt like the hard surface... he will probably fuss for awhile more but dont worry soon he will be loving playing with his toys on the floor.. do u get down on the floor with him??? we used bright soft blocks to get my daughter interested...

My son picks and chooses when he wants to enjoy it. I find if I lie down on my tummy in front of him and play he enjoys it more and we can interact with one another on his level. He also rolls onto his tummy but can't roll back over so he gets upset, cries and barries his head into the blanket.

I find time by putting my daughter on her tummy when she's awake and I have something to do, like fold laundry or make dinner. Also when I'm holding her she is always on her tummy on my stomach, she lifts her head to see my face. I have friends who's daughters hated being on their tummies too. Just hang in there. He's only four months as long as your giving him tummy time everyday he will be fine. Some babies don't like being on their tummies but if you try giving him tummy time on your tummy it might help.

Lay on your back, lift your legs and bend your knees, and lay him on his tummy on your shins so he can see you over your knees. Then keep hold of him as you let him "fly" back and forth! (also a great abdomen workout for you ;)

Its early days yet. Skyla didnt like it at first ethier. But I used mirrors and I dangled her fav toys just above her eye line to encorage her to lift her head.Textured play mats are good too and the most important thing encoragement from me.

Lots of colorful toys. Play some music, put a baby mirror on the floor, lay him on a colorful/pattern blanket and just play with him on your tummy too.

You could try putting him on your bed. My daughter enjoys it more because it's soft and boucy. We also put a mirror in front of her and she always wants to look at the "pretty baby". Goodluck!
