my son did that for the longest and we just had to keep putting him back in his bed but we have come to discover that having a tv in his room has helped so much becuase we will put on his favorite show or movie and let it play until he falls asleep. Then we turn on the night light and cut off then tv when he's sleep. maybe you should try that but when it boils down to it, he just have to get used to sleeping in his own bed.

Have you ever tried the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling or the turtle that lights up as stars on the ceiling? Maybe have him pick out a special teddybear that he can sleep with as long as he stays in his bed. Maybe even music might help him. These things worked for my son but every child is different. sometimes you just have to be strong and keep putting him back to bed.

It's going to be hard, but you're gonna have to keep putting him back to his bed. The first time comfort him, tell him you love him give him a kiss, or whatever your bedtime routine is then tuck him in and tell him he needs to sleep in his own bed and you will sleep in your own bed. He's gonna get up, don't talk to him, just hug him and put him back to bed. the next time don't say anything, just put him back to bed. This will take a while and you may be up really late and it will take a few days but it works if you don't give up. Good Luck and hang in there.
