Supply lots of books, and games that teach letters she is very young to be reading, don't be pushy

Read to her every night and try to start out reading the same book (maybe even 2-3 times a night, so pick a short one!) or alternating a few. Point out 1 word on each page for her to say. Give her a hint (say "The cat in the... hhhhh... what's this word? can you read it? hhhhhhaaaattt"). She will start recognizing letters and words and eventually call them out every time she sees it.

Make sure you are getting her used to seeing letters. If you are reading a magazine or on the computer and she comes over, pull her into your lap and say (pretend her name is Sara) "Lets spell your name. Can you find the S? I see one." and so on.

try to make flash cards...pretty big ones so they are noticable, do maybe 5 words at a time just show her a card and read it to her at the same time, put it away and go to te next...and so on. mix them up. do this like 5 times a day. or maybe you can make flashcarda and place them on house hold thing that she uses and sees everyday. get her to point and say what each item is, before she can use it. hope this helps
