If she is upset then try to soothe her... but if she is just happy and tired let her play and be happy. 2 1/2 months is when a lot of babies "wake up" as i call it. Suddenly they dont nap all day anymore. If you let her stay awake as long as she is comfortable during the day you may benifit with better nights. Make sure she is happy and content and giver her plenty of tummy time and playtime and she may just conk out!

Not to critisize other posters but dont give her solid food to help her sleep unless specifically directed by your pediatrition. 2 1/2 months is way too early for most babies to start "real food". And NEVER out of a bottle- only babies with certain digestive issues should do this.

Try putting rice cereal in her bottle. I was having the same problem with my daughter I put the rice cereal in her bottle and to my surprise she started talking longer naps and she's even sleeping thru the night

Try pushing her around in her pram (stroller) or give her a dummy (pacifier), with my girl I find she just needs something soothing to help her sleep and the dummy works most of the time. If that doesn't work try a warm bath, if all else fails let her stay up she will fall asleep eventually, my daughter only cat naps during the day but she sleeps all through the night at least 8 - 9 hrs and she is 4 months old. Better she is up when u are and sleep when you sleep. Good luck!!

ohh.. and you could try turning on a fan or anything that buzzes (white noise) sometimes my baby wouldnt sleep if it was too quiet.

My oldest stopped taking naps a little before he turned 2-- So I still consider you quite lucky. He'd 2.5 now and there are some days he drives me crazy, getting into things when he should be napping.

I have found that when I take him to the park behind our house or my Husband and I take him to one of the local malls to play with other children in the kids' play areas that he drops off quickly and sleeps for awhile.

You may end in my situation and just do your best to keep her out of things, knowing that she'll fall asleep a little easier/earlier come night time.

Good luck! :)

maybe try to get her "active" lots of colors, toys, books, floor time, etc! some babies just dont sleep well during the day! as long as she sleeps well at night! you might also try feeding her oatmeal or rice along with the bottle to fill her up more! sometimes just puttin her down while shes tired and letting her cry is the best way!
