My son is 3 months old and even though I know he could be sleeping through the night by now, he just isn't. He's had a lot of trouble with acid reflux, and because of that his sleep schedule has never really been normal. After having to stop breastfeeding and put him on a prescription formula, the reflux is doing better, but he's still not sleeping well. He wakes up in the middle of the night, but he's not even hungry. Please help.. I really don't like the cry it out method either.

You have very few options... you can get up and stay up all night everynight forever... or you don't have to let him cry it out... you can be there rubbing his belly... shhhing quietly. I wouldn't recommend giving him cereal yet if he has acid reflux but it might be worth talking to the doctor about. At this age they are desperately trying to soothe themselves. Thumbs, binkis, bottles, breast.... all soothe... He will find what works to soothe himself. Its a learning process for him as well.
