Its going to be hard, but start her with the sippy cup, make her a big girl.then let her drink out the cup about 1 1/2 hr before bed, its going to be hard at first, but you have to stay strong and stick with it, you will be fine.

I put away all the bottles and started a sleepytime routine. I would tell her it was bedtime, sit with her in the rocker and sing simple songs to her until she dozed off then put her into bed. It worked! And it was great way to make me stop for 1/2 hr and spend precious moments with her. If she woke up a little when I put her into bed I would rub her back gently and she would go back to sleep. She loved having her back rubbed.

If you tell her she is a big girl and that it's time to give the bottles to other babies who don't have any and replace it with a sippy cup with water it should work. I think replacing it with something else is good so she doesn't feel you just took something away from her (like punishing). She also learns that things change as you get older...

But like the other moms said just cutting down the amount of water in her bottle gradually might work really well too!

When Madison was 11 months old I took all of her bottles, put them in a walmart bag and put them in storage. She was on straight sippy cups. Out of sight, out of mind.

I'm doing the same thing that Gabrielle suggested. I'm finding my 1 yr old is less interested and falling asleep with less water. She is now going down this a 4oz bottle and drinks about half. Next week we will try putting her down with nothing and letting her cry it out. I don't think it will take long, if we stay strong and stay out of her room until shes sleeping.

Try giving her just water in her bottle instead of milk or juice. Only give her half and see if that works. I just kept putting less and less in the bottle til she was down to about nothing kinda like her weaning off. You might get a few crying nights for both you and her but it will not take long I promise. Good Luck
