How do you deal with all of the second guessing?

I am 22, and the mother of 2 beautiful little girls. I am constantly second guessing myself, and feel like every move I make in raising my girls is under a microscope. My oldest is 2 1/2, and my youngest us 14 months. I don't know what to do, I feel like if I say something, I am being rude, and if I don't, then I let it build up, and I agonize over very minute details. I then vent to my husband. This is such a vicious cycle....please give me any advice you have.

You need to realize you are doing your best. That's all that really matters. The strive for perfection is just ridiculous. We all make mistakes at one time or another. We all think back and go I could probably have handled that better/differently. It's just a part of motherhood. The fact that you are conscience of it I think shows you're a terrific mom! I do pretty well with my kids but I also second guess myself sometimes. I am raising these little human beings, how they turn out is a reflection of me and my hubby. It's a pretty heavy burden. Don't let it consume you though, relax and enjoy it. When I feel my moments coming on I call my mom. She's been through it already and has felt the same way. Talking to her is much more helpful for me than talking to my hubby. =)

Oh also, as they get older and you see what great little people you are raising helps too. I know I give myself a pat on the back every time I hear my kids say their please and thank yous without reminders, every time they go to a friend in need to help out instead of ignoring them, every time they get up to help out/do their chores without being told to or asked, etc.. They have their hiccups as all kids do but on the whole they are very great kids who are turning into great people. =)
