My DD is 4 months and my husband and I are already thinking of another soon, lol. We want to get pregnant again sometime late in 2014. My question is how old was your first when you got pregnant with your second? Do you enjoy how close or far apart they are & what kind of challenges do you face?

I totally agree with Elizabeth. My first two are 3 yrs apart and my second to third is 10 yrs apart. Each have their pros and cons. All my kids are just like any other siblings playing nicely one minute and fighting the next.....all 3 of them, so age span makes no difference on that :) I have enjoyed both age spans. The older two it was fun to watch them grow up together. The youngest it has been fun to watch her with the older ones. I have personally had the most fun with my youngest, but that could be for many reasons......financially we are a bit more set, parenting wise I have realized how fast they really do grow and how to saver the moments. I have lots of sisters and brothers and they are all close in age to the next one in line. I am 18 months older then the next one in line. I totally agree with what Elizabeth said about personality. I am closer to my sister that is 5 yrs apart from me then I am with the one that is 18 months apart. I know families that have their kids all right back to back with about 1-2 yrs apart from the next one and I know families that have kids with 5 plus years between kids. Those that have them close together often say that they want their family to grow up together. Those that have them further apart say that they want to enjoy the growth of each child being able to attend their sporting/school events without having to juggle two (or more) others at the same time.

It varies from parent to parent when it comes to having kids close in age to very far apart. My daughter turned 5 right before I had my son. He's 4 now will be 5 in July and I'm ready for another. They get along and then they fight as siblings do. My brother is 6 years older than I and my sister is 6 years younger. My brother and I are extremely close while neither of us really get along with my sister. It solely depends on their personalities. But if your able to handle DD just fine and want to add another go for it and Good Luck! A few of my friends have theirs within 18 months and some are perfect and some are overwhelmed. It is based on your support system!
