How long did it take you to get pregnant after birth control?

My husband and I have recently decided to have our first baby and my doctor recommended we wait 60 days to start trying. It's been a month already. I'm not discouraged that we didn't fall pregnant this month because I know this takes time and patience and I would like to wait another month. I have yet to have my period this month. I know that's common after coming off birth control and I'm definitely not pregnant. Okay, I need to stop rambling, my question is how long did it take you to get pregnant after stopping birth control? I've heard anywhere from a week after to 6 months. We are SO ready for this baby.

My husband and I have been ttc since August when I went off the pill. We haven't had any luck yet, but this month (3rd without bc) I seem to finally have gotten back into my regular natural cycle. While on the pill, I'd always have sore breasts as part of my pms. This is the first time in 2 years that I haven't had to deal with it. I'm expecting my period in a couple days (or not if we're lucky). It's taken me 3 months to have the effects of the pill wear off. Every woman's body is different. Things will definitely happen when they happen. If you're really trying to conceive quickly, you could try charting your basal temp or use ovulation tests to help pinpoint the critical point in your cycle.

Hi Shelbie,i dont know about the leaking but about getting pregnant i would suggest you get a check up to see if you are ovulating and producing eggs (i hope i am spelling this all right). If not they can help with a therapy by us its called clomifen. We had a miscariage after one treatment with clomifen so we left it after that. After a while i learned to relax about falling pregnant..and then it worked:-)without treatment. Good luck

I was on the implanon and I've been researching on it because I haven't been able to conceive. I've been trying for 9 months now but research said tht the birth control was causing women not to ovulate. My breast also still leak and my daughter is almost two yrs old. I kinda gave up on trying but the thought is still there any thoughts or suggestions???!?

It took over a year by us..after about 6months i went for a check up and it was because i didnt ovulate well.I was testing every month cause i realy wanted to fall pregnant. So after that long time i just started to relax and stop thinking about it all the time....and i fell pregnant. I think its important to just relax and it will happen when the times right.Good luck

I'm in the same boat, honey! I've heard so many people who say it only took them a few weeks and they were pregnant, which gives me hope. I think the basic rule is that you'd go back to your normal fertility after stopping the pill, so however long it would take you under normal circumstances.

I would not stress to much. Just let it happen naturally. I had 2 miscarriages before getting a viable pregnancy. Various reasons, not due to birth control. It will happen when it happens. But in the time you have now you can still prepare!
