Hey Mommys,

I just had a baby by C-section on the 22nd. The doctors say take about 4-6 weeks to allow yourself to heal, but i need to get back to work and school!! How long does it really take?

It takes that long, maybe longer if you try and do to much. besides unless you have a personall caretaker for your baby daycares wont take a baby til they are 6weeks. So sit back relax and enjoy your baby.

It can take that long matey. Depends, take it easy and let your body heal. Trust me, push yourself too soon and you run the risk of having the ceaser rupture. Trust me, I know! !

It does take that long sweetie. Even with a vaginal birth there is a small chance of hemoraging. Trust your doctor. I know I felt better after I had my second child(c-section) and I over did it and ended up spending a week in the hospital and all I did was some heavy house work. Wish I would have listened when they said no activity.

It does take that long as your skin and stomach muscles have been sliced open and then stiched back together. the reason they say it takes that long is they dont want you to strain and caused the stitching to burst. When i had my c section the doctors told me not to pick up anything heavier than your newborn. Youll have to consider that when going back to school and work and see if you will be, i wouldnt take the risk as it is serious surgery that you have just had

Yes listen to these ladies! I had a ruptured appendix with a major surgical scar running from belly button to about 3 inches down and went back to work the very next week and broke my stitches, that part of the scar is the widest now! :) They told me not to but I was 19 and hard headed...

Well technically it's not early. I've been on maternity leave since July 1st and my leave is til Sept 10th. But if I have to take extra time I will. I definately don't wanna get myself back in the hospital!! Thanks for the advice

Do not push yourself to heal fast. Enjoy this time you have with your baby!
