he/she should definately be be having more milk, ask your doctor how much, but cut the solids not the mmlk. maybe just give water or juice for one bottle but mine drinks 5 8oz bottles every day. hope it helps

My only concern is he may not be getting enough liquids. We absolutely want to avoid dehydration, especially in the summer. My advice is if your worried about too much milk contributing to his weight, give him a bottle of water and/or half a bottle of organic juice and dilute it with water. I see no harm in giving your little one more milk. When my son was 7 months we quit formula. We would buy those half gallons of organic milk and give him that. It's cheaper and it has DHA and omega-3 in it [what is in formula] which helps build healthy eyes, bones and brain! To make up for the vitamins, we got the vitamin drops at the store. I hope I could help you sweetie!

When my son was in for his 6 month check up( he is now 7 months) his doctor said that a baby around his age should have 28-32 ounces of formula per day......my son has a 4 ounce bottle with is fruit and cereal for breakfast, then a 6 ounce bottle with his veggie and cereal for lunch...than an 8 ounce bottle and then for supper he has a jar of baby food like a "meal" one....and a glass of juice, and than uaually an 8 ounce bottle before bed, sometimes he will have more formula at breakfast and less other times of the day....it just depends on how hungry he is......and my son is about 23 pounds and 29 inches long....they say that he is big for his age, but his height and weight are porportioned alright....they are not worried about it.....hope this helped.....
