My daughter just turned 5 months and I would like to start her on rice cereal but not sure how many times during the day i would feed her this. I am still nursing about 6 times in a 24 hr period. Any advice...

I STARTED MAKING IT FOR MY DAUGHTER EVERY MORRNING WHEN SHE WOKE UP.

YOU COULD ALSO TRY MIXING IT WITH YOUR BREAST MILK IN A BOTTLE IF SHE REFUSE'S TO GET IT THROUGH A SPOON.

start off with one meal per day for about a week.

I started at a regular meal time for when I would eat, but I figured out first which meal my child was the most hungry around. So lets say your daughter nurses the most close to supper time feed her some cereal then, and then let her nurse afterwards. eventually weaning her off the nursing and switching to a meal at mealtime.

The first few times all you may need is a few small spoon size bites, unless she figures it out quickly then you may need to give her more.

If this is her first intro to foods, the best bet is to do this for each meal you want her to eat at slowly (it could take a few days to a few weeks to get her to eat at all three mealtimes) plus you can wean her a bit so your not nursing so much, but make sure you nurse after you give her the cereal.

Once she has setled into the meal schedule you can slowly introduce other foods once she is ready (that way too you will be able to figure out easier if she has issues with new foods without the hassle of having to retry or eliminate foods in order to find out which might be a problem)
