i gained 23 lbs with my first pregnancy and when i walked out of the hospital i only had 5 lbs to lose to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. Mine is all genetics i believe. Not everyone is like this..i was lucky and i have heard other woman who lost it just like that. One thing that i think really helped me was i nursed my baby and i was always taught that when you nurse it helps you loose the weight faster, the baby sucks it right off is what i was told lol..and i really do think nursing helped me loose it. id say most of it has to do with genetics and how careful you are about not gaining too much weight when pregnant. id consider nursing if you wanted to see more results in your weight loss. and well nursing has alot of other advantages too .. but that all just my opinion :)

I was 120 lbs. when i concieved my first. i gained 80 pounds due to extreme fatigue & genetics. I breastfed & formula supplemented (i couldn't make enough milk for her), excersised regularly with Bellydancing & pilates-inspired aerobics. 10 months after Miranda was born, i went back to work part -time with my husband cleaning pools & mowing lawns. Two years after having her, i was back into my old size 6 clothes, then got pregnant with twins.. losing weight after both pregnancies took a bit of work & patience, but i'm healthier now than ever!

I gained 38 pounds. I was 128 in the beginning of my pregnancy and delivered around 166. My little girl is four months now and I weigh around 140. I have not done anything yet to try to get the weight off. I think the thing I notice most is not the size of my body but the shape . . . . If you are having surgery after the baby, or a c section then give yourself more time to recover. I had a c section.

I know this is not related to the post however, if you don't have to go for surgery right after birth you could still breastfeed your little one for whatever amount of time you have. Colestrum is the most important stuff and it's already in your boobies at birth. You could breastfeed in the delivery room and give your baby immunity to soo many things.

I weighed 123 when I got pregnant. After I was done w/ my morning sickness which lasted about 4-5 months, I weighed around 110. By the time I gave birth I was 122 pounds. So I guess I gained 12 pounds??? I gave birth at 34 and a half weeks

I didn't gain much because it was hard to keep food down after throwing up my whole pregnancy. But after to get rid of rolls I didn't want I started working out my abdominals and doing some cardio and eating healthy and I look and feel better than I did before getting preggers!

I was 105 when I became pregnant. I am only 5' 3 so the doctor said that I was technically underweight and therefor should gain 5-40 lbs. I gained 40. Three months later I am now 110, so I only have five more pounds to go before I am back to weight. I think right after the baby I lost a good 12 pounds right away. If you are breastfeeding you will lose weight quicker since you are burning more calories. Remember that the baby weighs 6-10 lbs (typically) and then you also have the placenta.

I gained like 55lbs with my first!!! She was a big baby. Weighed 8lbs 10oz!! I managed to lose all but the last 10lbs. Was still working on it when I got pregnant with my second (my daughter was only 9 months at the time). With him I gained about 40lbs. He was another big baby, coming in at 9lbs 12oz!! I am still working on losing the weight from him and he's almost 18 months!!! LOL I've lost about 20lbs of the 40 so half way there!

I went from 180 to 235 having my daughter. the funny thing is before I got pregnant I went from almost 300 to 180! so when I went to 235, it was no big deal. However I am now at a cool 211 ( but dont look like it) and still losing the weight. It is very hard for me to lose weight, because after having my daughter almost 3 years ago, I came down with so many physical problems it is very hard for me to lose the weight.

I have a bad liver, a very rare blood disorder, pancreatitis, enlarge heart. Last year in 2008 I have suffered 3 strokes cause of my blood pressure and suffered my first seizure ever. But hey, If I can lose the weight with all these, I garentee you anybody can. Its all about will power baby! lol.

People hate me when I tell them but I gained 17lbs with my first and dropped back to my post baby weight, 15lbs with my second and dropped back to my post baby weight, and 10lbs with my third and then dropped back to the post baby weight for my 6 week check up with all 3. The doctor thought at first I wasn't eating and since it kept happening with the 2nd and 3rd, he just figured that is how I was and it wasn't going to change. I was lucky.

I started out at 132lbs and I gained 70lbs with my first. It's now a year and a half later and I still have about 8lbs to go but about 80% of it came off with out me doing anything in the first 2-3 months. I'm sure if I would exercise the rest would come off pretty easy but I can't seem to commit myself to that. lol. Also I was not able to breast feed Iike I had hoped so the weight would have probably come off a lot faster if I had.

I was 155 when I got pregnant with my daughter. I gained exactly 30 pounds. Three weeks after I had her, I had lost 24 of the 30 pounds I gained. I breastfed her and I heard it really helps lose the weight but I also heard you won't lose that last 5 lbs until you're done breastfeeding (which turned out to be true). Today, I weigh 130 and it has been just over a year since I had my daughter. Exercising and eating healthy during the pregnancy and after really helps, you just have to keep at it. But I believe it's not as hard as people make it out to be to lose your baby weight, as long as you're dedicated.

I was 140 when I got pregnant and gained 25 pounds... Isabella will be 3 weeks old in 2 days and I'm back to 145 already... I breastfed for only 6 days. I think a lot of the weight loss is split between losing all that water weight and now trying to eat between naptimes... I just don't have time to sit down to a full meal anymore. Metabolism probably has something to do with it as well, but I'm no doctor... Just remember that everyone is different, and if you lose it all right away, great, but if you don't I wouldn't worry too much about it. It will come off in time if you work at it. :)

Then I just went down hill, I didnt workout as much. When I got pregnant with my son I weighed 175 and I was 230 when I had him. I am still fighting to get the weight off, I have only lost 34 lbs..

I gained about 40 pounds with my first. I was only 105 when I got pregnant and young, so my metabolism played a major part, but I went back to exercise ASAP. About 2 months after the birth I was actually a little trimmer than before. I also breastfed which helped out alot too.

So i pretty much did nothing to lose the weight, but i did do a lot of walking during my pregnancy & having a high metabolism helped too.

I gained over 60 lbs due to by body absorbing everything I ate which wasn't alot. I have 2 kids now and I still am not down to my previous weight and I don't think I will ever be. Breastfeeding helps with dropping the weight you will see your belly shrink everyday. Hope I helped :)

I gained 70 pounds that I know of with my one and only pregnancy... i stopped weighing myself after gaining that much because it was depressing! bedrest and extreme swelling didn't help me feel any better. i only lost 25 lbs so far, that was basically baby, and all the swelling. i'm glad my feet don't look like flinstone feet anymore lol. i was in loads of pain and had surgery done so even 4 months after the baby i haven't lost anymore... but had i been able to be more active i know i wouldn't still be this big. (btw surgery and pain nothing to do with baby lol don't want to scare you). just remember how long it took to gain and give yourself at least that long to lose it. i have joined a gym because i am able to go back to normal activity sept 1st so i guess once i start pumpin iron i can let you know if the weight falls off lol. well good luck!

I didn't gain any weight at all. I lost 20lbs in the first 3 months, not because I was throwing up or anything, I was only getting morning sickness for a couple weeks. then I maintained my weight until I was 6 months pregnant. I had gained 10lbs by then. When I was in the hospital for nine days right before I went into labor at 8 months pregnant, I had gained 8 pounds. I left the hospital two days after having my baby at exactly 8 pounds less than my pre-pregnancy weight but fitting into the same jeans I was wearing a month before I found out I was prego.

I gained about 50 lbs with my son. I ate what i wanted when I wanted... I actually look skinnier then i did before having my son.. I breast fed!!! Right after you have your baby and time for the first feeding, when they put the baby on your breast you will feel like you are having real bad menstrual cramps./.. I was kind of freaking out when this had happened but they told me that it is working your abdomen muscles.. so i breast fed my son for 4 month... Once he turned about 3 weeks every evening i took a walk around the block... never worked out since i have had him and he is almost 3.. trust me i really think breast feeding and continueing your normal routines on house cleaning and outside work will help you get it all back together.. another thing, when they begin to crawl which mine did at 4 months you have to continue to watch them so your on the ground up making a bottle back to the floor and doing some cleaning... always on the go u will lose it.. dont worry about it...
