How often should you bathe your infant?

My baby girl is 2 months old now. I give her a bath every 2nd day. She loves bath time now but the baby bath I bathe her in is now too small as she likes to stretch her legs out and push off which she ends up hitting her head at the other end. I think I might now bathe her in the big bath or maybe the laundry sink.

my baby boy is 3 months and i bathe him every morning. try buying a bath tub that will go from infant to toddler from the first years, safety 1st, or fisher price

every other day see infants have to let their skin thikin and a bath tipacly everday keeps it too moist . you can also use baby wash wipes.

I asked my doctor the same thing, I was told that until they are getting extremely messy by crawling then just do it every other day, once they start to walk switch to everyday. It doesn't hurt to give them one everyday at any age, you just need to make sure their skin isn't drying out. As for the baby bath, By three months my daughter was using the big tub. I use to take the bath with her and only fill it a little bit, she was too tall to use the infant one. Now she is 9mths old and she is still in the big tub but we don't need to be in it with her, she was also able to sit up on her own at 3mths. Make sure when using the big tub that you have non slip mats in the tub and never look away! hope this helps a little!

ps. if giving the bath every other night make sure to wipe her down on the nights that you don't bathe her. : )

I asked my doctor how often my daughter should get a bath when she was an infant and she said it wasn't going to hurt if she didn't get a bath everyday. I usually bathed her once a week when she was that age. We wiped her down every night, but as far as getting in the tub and shampooing her hair it was once a week. Now that she's almost 2 and is very active she gets a bath every 2-3 days.

my doctor told me just not to do it every day and she'd be i do it every other or the day after that.. i hate my baby bath though and am considering just using the sink until she's big enough for the tub, id try your laundry sink first just to be safe

i bath my bub every 2nd night as well, i had a baby bath for her but i found it easier to just bath her in the sink, she is also getting to big for the sink and hits her head when she pushes off the side.

my boy (7 weeks) is a sweater so i bath him every night and it helps to get him into a great night time long as you use a good moisturize then it shouldnt dry out her skin. i hav him in the big bath too

That's how often I bathed my son at that age. Now he get's one every morning (he's 13 months). The key is to make sure that her skin isn't getting too dry. If her skin seems to not be retaining moisture as well as it should, bathe her less.

Once she's able to sit on her own the big bath will be easier, you can bathe with her in the big bath, to make it easier on your back (bending over the tub kills)
