Around 3 or 4 months was when my son stopped sleeping constantly and only went down for 2 naps per day, but every baby is different. Talk to your pediatrician, and if he/she isn't worried about your baby's sleep patterns, then you shouldn't be either.

Joy is spot on with her advice! Most children fall into a regular sleep pattern with usually two naps per day around 3-4 months. They should be sleeping 15-18 hours.

This would also be a good time to set a bedtime for your child - 6 - 7 pm is appropriate. Start a bedtime ritual. (Dinner, bath, baby massage, book, and lay baby down while drowsy but not asleep) Trust me - this will help so much in the long run.

Sleep beget's sleep - and more and more studies are showing how sleep is tied to infant and childhood health. Lower rates of obesity, improved functionality in school, etc. Enjoy your sleeping child and allow your child to enjoy their sleep! There will be plenty of time and opportunity to play soon enough.

My son usually slept from 6pm - 6am. He did wake up to eat every 3-4 hours, but would go straight back to sleep. He took two naps per day, approx 1.5-2 hours each, until he was around 14 months when he consolidated to one nap, (he also dropped the night time feedings around the same time).  He still is asleep most nights by 6:30 (at almost 2);  And let me tell you - I am so grateful!

All babys are different but most of them stop sleeping all day around 3 months. Just enjoy your day, your next question will be, how can I get me time when my baby won't give a break? LOL! Congrats!

my baby girl just turned 3 months and she stopped sleeping a lot during the day at around 2 and a half months. But now she tends to fight her sleep and wants to stay up and go to sleep at the same time. you get used to it and it is hard sometimes but that's when you have to start putting them on a schedule which is what I did and it works!. Good luck!
