when she has her first period. Or shows and interest in it out of embarrassment. and when they are young tell her only to the knee, its easier for young girls. I was 11 or 12 when I first shaved. oh and don't assume, if she has a big sister, that she knows how to do it. Razor burn hurts.

I had planned on having my daughter start shaving with you can see the hairs and not before. My mom had me shaving by 13y.o. I didn't have any hair on my legs, because she had me do that I have really thick hair now. Its ready a judgment call.

I hit puberty at 10 and was shaving by 11, but every body is different. Just wait and see when she is interested in doing so and make the decision from there. :)

i was in 8th grade when i started, having two older sisters helped my mom with the idea. considering gym with shorts and kids are mean. also going swimming with friends and having hairy legs or hairy arm pits is HORRIBLE. i would say use your judgement on if you think she should or not. like if her hair is black or just blonde.

Shaving what, like her armpits or legs? Or "elsewhere"? For armpits, I say to shave them whenever you need to because that is just gross and will cause a lot of embarassment for her. Legs, I would say junior high.

i also say junior high. I did the first time at the end of grade 6 and any girl should be able to if the hair is getting darker on her legs. If it's still light then she should wait and feel glad she isn't troubled by yet another thing us women have to keep up on.

I think it depends on how hairy she mum didn't allow me to shave my legs because she knew the hairs would grow back thicker and darker so she encouraged me to get them waxed. I'm grateful she stared me on waxing early..i very little hair as an adult now and it doesn't hurt to wax. I think i was about 13 - 14 and most the other girls in my class were shaving so i felt the pressure to shave too but waxing is so much easier. I think if she has underarm hair let her shave it and wear deodorant so he doesn't have to worry about being stinky.

I say junior high, only because of gym class if they have to change into shorts. Kids can be cruel in junior high and you don't want them to make fun of your daughter for being the hairy one. My mom's theory was that when we got hair on our underarms that's when we started to shave so for me it was when I was in 7th grade but for my little sister it was when she was in 5th. But ultimately it's whatever you and your family decides on doing.

I say high school. Why would she need to shave any sooner than that? Are there kids making fun of her?
