How old was your baby when he or she started crawling?

My little girl, Reece, hasn't started crawling. She's eight months old and my other children started crawling by then. Should I be worried?

We have four kids. They crawled at different ages. Our second was eight and a half months. Our forth was about seven months, but then he walked really late. It really varies.

Some babies never crawl. It's not a development milestone. You need the strength and skill to roll over before you can sit. A baby who can't sit can't pull themselves up to a standing position. You need to stand before you can walk. But you don't need crawling for anything, and so it's not on the list of official developmental milestones.

As long as she's developing normally in every other way, don't worry about not crawling.
