How old was your child when you first put a pillow in their cot?

My bub is 9 months old & sleeps on her tummy. I wanna give her a pillow but my partner says she'll suffocate even though she has a strong neck (drs words).

My son is 12 months old I just started putting a pillow in his crib but only when he has a cold and I feel he should be elevated. I check on him throughout the night to make sure he is on his back or has his head to the side.

I did not give my daughter a pillow until she moved out of her crib and into a bed. If she is not asking for one, she probably doesn't need one, and is safer without it anyway.

i think i gave my first boy a pillow at a little over a year, kind of w/o planning it, he had fallen asleep on the living room floor on a couch pillow lol.. so i figured why not, he loves it now, he always puts it in his right spot in the crib at nihgt now lol

My son is 15 months and doesn't have a pillow beccause he likes to sleep on his stomach, so doesn't really need one. They recommend not giving one until your child moves into their bed because of the danger of suffocation, however if you feel your daughter is strong enough, then she should be fine.

I first put a very flat pillow in her bed when she was 18 months and was wiggly all night. She would push it out of the way if she didn't want it so I didn't worry too much.

Just recently. So almost 8 months. I think if you feel confident in your babies strength its fine. If they can roll, lift their heads, get up on all fours, sit up, etc. My daughter didnt get one until she was in a toddler bed at 12 months though.

My daughter is 14 months and I just put a pillow in her bed. She is still in her crib, but I now keep her guard rail down (it still reaches to about her belly button, so she can't roll out). Most people I talked with said they didn't put one in there until their child was old enough to ask for one.

My son didn't get a pillow in his bed until he switched to a toddler bed at about 15 months. Even then, he used it at first, but now (he's 3) he scoots down in his bed so he's not on his pillow.

my daughter is going to be a year old on thursday and she doesn't sleep with a pillow. even tho i put her down on her back, she gets to her stomach and she would just move if i put one in there anyway lol. they dont need them. when you switch to a big bed or toddler bed then it will be appropriate for a pillow.
