How soon after delivery can I get an accurate pregnancy test reading?

Hi everybody, So I just had my second son on 5/26 and my husband and I did the naughty about 1 week 1 day pp. He has used the pull out method twice( I know, incredibly stupid!) but ever since then we have used condoms everytime. I finally stopped bleeding yesterday and today I have thick mucous( sorry if TMI) and when I wipe it looks like I'm starting to spot. I guess what I'm asking is when can I take a pregnancy test and expect it to be accurate? I've heard that hcg can stick around in your system, but I don't want to get worked up over a false positive if I take a test now. I'm 3 weeks 5days pp today.

After a super quick Google search, it appears that you can still get a positive test 4-6 weeks postpartum, but it's frequently less than that.
Google it and do your own research :) it may help to get you more information :)

If you were still bleeding then it's unlikely, not impossible though but unlikely.
