I have a 2 year old daughter who is my world... and my miracle my daughter was born on my birthday. When I was pushing her out the umbilical cord wrap around her neck my daughter was born dead but thank god they revive her thanks to the lord I never lose faith. My question is I am pregnant again and this time I want a boy will I get the gender I want if I ask god for his blessiing in a baby boy. Im not being selfish by the way im getting operated after this kid which is why I want a boy.

Dead can't come back to life either but the Lord made that happen, the Lord made the blind man see, the Lord made it possible for one of his disciples to walk on water towards him (when he started to fear and lose faith he started to sink into the water). My point is God can determine whether or not she has a boy no matter what science says. Pray boldly and you may just receive just like David prayed to the Lord to shut the mouths of lions so he wouldn't be eaten in the lions den and the Lord did just that. By now you've had your baby but I hope you got what you wanted, and for those of you who say it isn't possible...All things are possible through Christ our Lord and savior. :)

Honey, this isn't about whether you believe in the Lord or not. The FACT (not opinion) is, gender is determined at conception. You are already pregnant, so praying won't help. If you want praying to change anything, you need to be praying BEFORE you get pregnant. We weren't giving negative feedback, just pointing out the obvious. The baby's sex will not change now. FACT. So if you have boy, look at it as not a result of your prayers, but the result of God knowing that deep down, that's what you wanted before you were pregnant.

Now would be the time to be praying for a HEALTHY baby.

However, in answer to your question, it isn't selfish if you want a boy.

It wasn't negative feedback, we were stating that the sex of your baby has already been determined and nothing will change that now.

Like Firebird and Jodi have pointed out, it's up to the sperm, not God. It has already been determined so no amount of praying can change it now.

Gender is determined by the X and Y chromosomes in the zygote the moment the egg is fertilised. Your baby's gender has already been determined. Sorry, praying won't help at this point.

If you are already pregnant, the baby's gender is already determined. There's no changing it now.

Jazzy, I don't know if praying for a boy will give you a boy. But I'm sure it can't hurt. :-P
