I strictly breastfed my daughter till her 1st birthday. The very next day she had a bottle of whole milk and never had a problem. I was never told to slowly put her on real milk. So I didn't and it all worked out just fine. Maybe just warm it a little the first couple days if you are worried about an upset tummy, then gradually get it to just out of the fridge.

Yea everyone has they're own way that worked for them, I actually tried putting my 10 month old on milk already using the mixing method and my son got very grumpy and gassy, so i asked my doctor about it and he told me to put him back on formula because the nervous system needs the nutrients in formula to develop properly. So I am going to wait a bit longer or maybe try the goats milk since it is gentler because my son has always been sensitive to changes and to Iron.

Im still breastfeeding my 13 month old but the past month we are starting to pare down the number of nursings per day. we too tried regular whole milk and she wants nothing to do with it so we are now using goats milk and she loves it! It is supposed to be gentler on the stomach and the consistency is very close to breastmilk and not really thick like cows milk. they have it in the regular grocery stores and the health food stores.

i tried giving my daughter straight milk but she wouldnt take it so i mixed some formula in with it & every week id take it down an oz till she was drinking all milk ... it worked really good too

I mixed formula and milk. This way they can get used to it without knowing it. When you're ready just give them regular milk.

I mixed it starting at 11 months. For a week I did 2 oz. of milk and the rest formula. The following week it was 4 oz. of milk and the rest formula. Then 6 oz. of milk and 2 oz of formula. Then all milk. My daughter didn't even notice. We also eliminated the bottle at the same time so we put it in sippy cups not bottles. Good luck.

We just stopped the bottles and formula at 1yr so our son started drinking whole milk from a sippy cup from then on out. We didn't really ease into it or anything, but there wasn't a problem at all.

it took me about a month to get my 2 oldest daughters off formula. but what i did i would do 1/4 milk-rest formula, and just kept upping the milk. that way it wouldnt hurt there stomachs and they got use to the taste.

oh yeah get rid of the formula! Just give a a bottle of regular milk once a day for a couple weeks and then just switch. Her tummy may need to get use to the real milk, but otherwise it should go fine and be much cheaper. :) You can always call the doctor or the nurse and they can let you know too.
