I just turned 21 in October, I have a 4 year old (turned 4 in Nov.), a 1 year old (she will be 2 in March), and our 3rd is due at the end of April. We have been together for 6 years and married for almost 2. They are all girls and all 2 years apart. Not only am I a young mom but me and my husband have a big age difference.

Im 21 with 3 kids!! akil(boy) 3yrs old amara( girl) is 17 months and a newborn baby boy aylen-lee is 6 weeks... : ) I love em to death wouldnt trade them for the world...!! I dont care about the critisim bc i know what i am capable of and my accomplishments..while many are too busy speaking ill of a beautiful family or situation. My motivation are my children and these same ppl who tell me what I cant do! Thats the best feeling proving people wrong!! Never judge a book by its cover..as far as im concerned I've seen some young moms take care of their children better than an older one..So they really need to drop the age factor and turn it into if one is fit enough or has the mental ability to be a loving productive mother..My kids are taken care of and I dont ask any of those people in my family who speak ill..so when Im out of law school..what will they say then? NOthing : )..let those who speak ill be your motivators i say

We were hoping for a boy when we had our second and then when we got pregnant with this one we thought for sure it was going to be a boy. But no we got blessed with 3 girls. I told my husband since im so young maybe we will try for another one in 10 years when i am going through a mid life crisis. lol.

i sometimes get nervous when my age gets brought up but most of the time i say  "i have 2 kids and im 21" (turning 22 in april). i feel that being younger has given my the proper energy for my kids. i love to run around with them and not have to worry about getting tired quickly......am i making sense? people are quite surprised when they find out im younger, i have gotten quite a few compliments which makes me feel like im doing a good job.

When I was 21 I had 2 children. Now I am 23 with 3 children. I enjoy being a young mom because I know that when I'm in my 40's and can really appreciate life. My kids will be grown and I'll be able to do things that I want to do.

Also being young, enables me to have more fun with my kids now. Good luck.

its like that down my sons school just becasue i'm not married and in my 30's i suddenly cant look after my children as good as them. I'm proud to be a young mum i've had a failed relationship not a failed marriage and it really annoys me when people judge you before they get to no you i'm as good a parent as anyone else out there and its about time people start thinking before they speak

it is not right that nearly every single one of us has been worried about mentioning our age or juged on our age i think the people judging us and being so nasty need to take a step back and think abut what they are saying. i did a course last year it was called "young parents"" but we looked into the arguement of attitudes towards younger parents and some of the things that we found in our research was really disturbing, and in actual fact we are not like those steroetypes at all, it makes me very angry.

Hi there, im a single mum in the Army, im 23 yrs old and have 2 beautiful children, 4 yr old daughter and a 2 yr old son, i love being a mum and although i may be young i can treat my kids just as well or if not better than a 30 yr old!! i think that as long as you take your responsibility as a mum seriously then it doesnt matter how old you are. :)

People are way to judging of young moms.  I strongly believe that having kids at a young age is much better than having them later on in your life. You are more able to act like a child along with them and have so much more fun and I think that it creates a much stronger bond with your children.

Yup Congrats your children are beautiful! Im 21 ( almost 22) and I have 3, I get a lot of criticism but realize there are a lot of benefits that i can reap from later with ttehm being so young.

I know I have found that when I meet other "older" moms at the park and places I just do not mention my age. I try to just not worry about it until they bring it up. Once we have gotten a solid friendship started then I causually bring it up.

i recently met new friends at a baby club.. some were my age but some wer older... i felt a little nervous bringing up my age... nut many have only just had their 1st whereas i have a 7yr old too... when the ones who have their own little groups try to tell me how to look after my daughter i kindly remind them that unlike themselves i have more expeience.. some can be totel nasties but others just treayt you normal.. its a shame some ppl thinmk that because your a young mum you should be judged.. some ppl eh!! xx

I thought I might be the only person who does this. I try not to mention it - but it's such a shame, because I am no different than a mother who is in her thirties!! I always hate the responses I get "OH MY GOD! I never would have thought you were only 21!!" I always think  'if you never would have thought, then why does it matter?' and given, sometimes it doesn't - but I have on more than one occasion had a nose stuck up to me from another mother because of my age. It just goes to show who has the real maturity? I am 21 with an almost 4 year old girl Emma and a 7 month old Sophie!

Once we have gotten a solid friendship started then I causually bring it up. They are always so surprised and then say how they never would have guessed with what a good mom I am. We just moved and I have had to make new friends here and the moms that I am closest too at at in their late 20's or early thirties and the more we talk the more we all three realized that we have the same problems and we all have traites as moms that the others envy. Being a mom bonds us, not our age!

I agree with Jessica, Age doesn't define what kind of a mother u are! I think young mom's have more patients and can actually physically do stuff with their kids! Everyone asks me if I think it would have been better off for me to have waited before I started a family, I say it was a surprise when I found out I was prego since we hadn't been married long but I wouldn't change anything! I love being a mom! Everyone I went to school with if I meet them out some where always ask is that ur kid cause it is a shock to them I have a almost 5 yr old! When they have just got out of college and are just starting their lives. They can't imagine why I wanted to go in the direction of marriage right out of high school and starting a family! But each person wants different stuff in life and all my life I couldn't wait till I got married and had kids!

i totally agree i feel that i am the best mum to my kids that i can be just because i am young doesnt mean that i aint as good as older parents. their are older parents out their who have exactly the same probs as any other parent. we shouldnt all be stereotyped. we should be judged on our parenting not on our age!!!!

Hear Hear!  PLUS my boy has 7 great grandparents who get to see and enjoy him.  And did I say spoil him?  Because they also love to spoil him :)

[deleted account]

I agree with you Jodi.... Plus I think it is good to have them young cause you can relate to them more. And you actually feel like doing more with them.. Some people say your too young to be a mom, but like you said, back in the OLD days it was common to get married at 12 or 13 and start having babies.. I was 19 when I got pregnant with my first and had her when I was 20. I wouldn't change it for anything. Yes I had to give up a lot like going to school, but I am currently going back part time. So having babies does not stop you from accomplishing what you really want to do.. You just have to have the mind set to do it... :)

Isn't it funny how this is considered an 'unusual' situation these days, and yet only about 150 years ago it was totally the norm to have more than one child before age 25?

I completetly Agree. I think it is great having kids so young. A lot of people ask me if I feel I am missing out because I am not traveling the world and being young and single. To them I say you have to save for months to go to florida for spring break. When My kids are graduated I will just be turning 40 and I will be able to travel were I want in the world with the energy to to enjoy it. Most of them will still have 10 year olds when I am done with kids in the house. Besides I will still some what "cool" and relavent when my kids are teenagers. haha

I am 23, I just have 1 child cause I might not be able to have any more! But I have been married for almost 6 yrs and my daughter is turning 5! I was 18 when I got married and got prego right away, I was 18 almost 19 when I had her and all my friends were in collage. It was lonely when I first had my child cause I knew nobody who had kids my age or married! Alot of my friends didn't want to bother coming around cause they were to busy parting or hanging out with other friends that wasn't tied down!
