I wouldn't try to rush things, the baby will come when its ready. I was told to walk lots raspberry tea and sex LOL. I tried them and it didn't really help me out any.

With my 1st I went 7 days over. I tried everything.....curries, pineapple, sex, walking, raspberry leaf tea, nipple stimulation....the lot! Nothing works!

But I recommend trying the sex LOL!

After my 2nd was 10 days late I truely believe that a baby comes when it (and your body) is ready.

Good Luck!

Keep yourself busy with friends and family. Make as many plans as you can. Clean your house, get a peticure, have your hair cut. I know it's hard..... but you don't want anything to go wrong and think it could be your fault. Keeping busy will help keep your mind off of it. If you are really concerned, talk to your Dr. and they will let you know if there is anything they can doto help(like inducing). Hang in there- you are almost there!

Try moving house! My baby came 2 days early, while moving house- I lived in a third floor flat so im sure walking up and down the stairs must have helped to bring it on. My waters broke with a gush but felt nothing else for few hours later when contractions started.

I heard stimulating the nipples helps, sex, the oil, walking yourself crazy, I tried all of it and nothing worked! My first was 10 days overdue before the docs finally gave into my crying and induced me and my second was 2 days overdue when I was induced again. Babies like it in there, whether you do or not ;)

I agree with Torrie. Let baby come on his or her own. Sometimes having sex will help because the semen will help ripen the cervix. Orgasms cause your uterus to contract so it's kinda like exercising your uterus. Besides, it's fun. ;)

there really isnt anything safe you can do to induce. do not do the castorl oil thins bc that can be dangerous and dehydrate. have a lot of sex and walk.. thats the best you can do

With my third boy I was within a week of being due, so I figured it was safe to try caster oil. It was the most hideously disgusting thing I have ever tried and I had horrible, painful diarrhea for about four hours, but I went into labor at 3:30 that day and had him at 7:00 three hours later. I don't know if it had anything to do with the castor oil, but I never give birth that quickly, so it could have. It's worth a try. But I agree that if your body isn't quite ready, then it probably won't do anything. Don't do it too early.

I tired to start my labor and nothing worked I was induced and went through 26 hrs of hard labor, my suggestion is to wait and let your body start the process but if it doesn't follow what your caregiver advices.

How far are you?

There's nothing you can do to start labor if your body isn't ready. In all honesty, even actual inductions often fail because the body just isn't ready. Hence one of the needs for emergency c-sections. There's nothing you can do to start labor if your body isn't ready to push that baby out.

How far are you? I drank raspberry tea with peppermint oil into and took primrose oil supplements. I read that those help to thin the cervix and relax your uterus muscles. I did that for about 3-4 weeks. Not sure it helped though I had to be induced and then got a c-section anyway.
