My daughter has been pretty stressed because her father and I are no longer together. I dont bring her around other men or anything and as far as I know he doesnt either. I had started potty training her about a month and a half ago. I have since quit trying. She is very against it. She also has been screaming in peoples faces and has been hitting... I dont know what to do. This is not my daughter. She is usually a very sweet, overly energized little girl. Her father and I are not getting back together, but we currently still are living together. His lawyer advised him not to move out because he wants her to live with him. I am so stressed and I continue to try to discipline her as I would if nothing was going on. But she is soo Distraught sometimes. I feel like we are both trying to win her over... She is only two but she definitely knows whats going on.

It's not good for her to be living with parents that don't get along and love each other. You should move in with someone until the divorce is final. She might do better if she isn't in a negative setting at home. Do what you can to keep her busy and slightly distracted for a while. Do not let her misbehave just because you feel sorry for her because that will just slow down her adjustment. If you start at 50/50 custody right off the bat you will be surprised by how easy it is to give her a little extra attention when she is with you. She will be ok. Just keep her hair pulled back in in braids for a while.

she's probably just trying to comunicate that this is hurting her... she may know something is going on but that doesn't mean she doesn't understand it. Just try telling her that mommy and daddy both love you, but that mommy and daddy aren't getting along.
