Call your doctor...you don't want to get into any type of tachycardia or preeclamsia situations. That's about all the advice that I have. You don't want to over worry, and don't worry until your doctor tells you to, but you don't want to disregard something that could be more than just normal "wear" on the body. Jacky

My heart would beat SO hard and fast it felt like I had just ran 10 miles.. I went to my OB about it and she refered me to a Cardiologist. and after some testing and wearing a heart monitor for several days they determined my heart was just working harder because of the baby. Everything calmed down with it around week 30!! Hang in there and Congrats on the new addition!

If it will put your mind at ease and not make you worry I would make a trip to the doctors... With my second baby, even though it was not my first pregnancy every little thing that bothered me I called my doctor or went in for a visit.. Just to make sure and have a peace of mind.. It is always better to be safe than sorry..

thanks because I was starting to concern a bit.. I wasnt sure if anything is out of the blue wrong or whatever.. it just that I never experienced it with my first pregnancy and I do have shortness of breath when its beating so fast, I do have appointment on my 18th wks so I will discuss that with the doctor.. they say that everything is normal. blood pressure and everything else. thats the only experience i have .. shortness of breath.. its like okay im out of air.. i need more lol ya know.

Heart palpatations are often normal, but I'd talk to your OB about it just in case.  There is a dramatic increase in blood flow once the body starts really working for the baby's home.  This is also a reason many women experience faintness or dizziness.  Your blood volume goes up pretty quick, and makes your heart work harder, and usually, as long as you don't experience pain or so many that you can't rest, there isn't anything wrong.  :)  Hope that helps!

Yes this happened to me when i was pregnant and they said it was just palpitation and it was normal . Just look out for shortness of breath or light headed ness.

Are you drinking plenty of fluids? Try to drink plenty of water or juice, sounds like you might be slightly dehydrated. If it does not get better in a few days then definately contact your doc!

ive never experienced this with either of my pregnancies.. if its something your worried about maybe you should talk to your doctor and let him knows whats going on and see what he says because you wouldnt want to stress something that may not be something to stress over and it could cause as a harm to your baby..
