i have a 2year old son, turning 3 in September. lately he's been so confused. He absolutely loves being with grandpa and grandma and spending the night. For the past week when it comes to staying he starts crying and yelling that he wants to come with me. Once I get him and start leaving, he starts crying and says he wants to stay with grandma. he will have us there for like 15 minutes trying to figure out what's wrong. To top it off my mom is convinced that we're talking bad about her or telling my son something to not go with her. I'm starting to get really frustrated and I don't know how to make this better. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a typical 2 year old to me. A lot of times they are confused about what they want and will change their mind from one minute to the next. Children will go through periods where they one person over another and all of a sudden change who their favorite person is. When my daughter does that type of thing I will let her have her little fit and once it's over with I will talk to her and ask her what she wants to do and make sure she is certain about her decision. Most of the time that works for me because I have found that trying to talk to her while she is so upset will get me nowhere.
