I'm 22 years old, i have a son who will be 3 in August! when i was pregnant with him, going on 37 weeks, my dr. told me had preeclampsia. Wasnt anything too bad, i remember feeling light headed and a little dizzy at 36 weeks, but didnt think much of it, cuz at the place we were staying at the time was VERY HOT, and the water cooler was just not working fast enough lol, anyways, had my appt. on a fri. was there for a whole week. Blood pressure up real high, protien in my urine.. my son was in NICU for 11 days... at the time my childs father was not in the picture, until 1 year ago, and hes an amazing father! & recently I've been having crazy baby fever, for the past month and a half. Every where i go is babies, and im aweing at their cries, i see pregnant ladies EVERYWHERE i turn, or girls with new borns. I WANT A 2ND CHILD! (on the IUD for 2 years already) but Im scared im going to get preeclamsia again, and worried it might be Worse? I've always wanted two children.. but getting it again, REALLY worries me.

has anyone had Preeclamsia at a young age, or at all? and how was your 2nd pregnancy?

**Please DO NOT judge me, by my age of 22 wanting a 2nd child. IM really good with kids, i watch my 3 year old niece everyday, all day, while my sister is at work.. being a mother comes very natural to me lol**

hey im heather i have only one little boy hes 3.5 months. i had a pretty good pregnancy until 34 weeks I was having like almost complete blackouts my fingertips were going numb and my vision was so blurry,I have full blown eclampsia on the day I had my son that morning hes dad left to go to work and i went to McDonalds for breakfast when i got up to go to the restroom i noticed i had blood on my pants so i went home had n bag packed nothing and where i live its about 40 miles to the hospital so i called my cousin bc i knew i couldnt drive when we got to the hospital my blood pressure was 179/97 my son was perfectly fine the whole time but they were scared i was going to have a stroke or a seizure so they put me to sleep did a csection and my beautiful baby boy was born at 3:02pm about 45 minutes after I had gotten there he was 5lbs 3oz 18.5" long he was very healthy the only thing he had to stay in the NiCU for 4 weeks for them to monitor him and so he could get the whole sucking and swallowing thing down he is the light of my life but having another one and to have a chance of going through that again Im okay but have you talked to your doctor because i dont think that if you have it once youll definitely have it again but i do know that it causes preterm delivery, oligohydramnios(not sure what that is lol), and slow growth.but my little growing as fast as a full term baby and is just or even smarter than a full term so if i were you Id talk to my ob and get his/her opinion.

Elizabeth, that is very true, the last couple of months in my pregnancy was SUMMER TIME, in like 112 degree weather, except i OVER drank water. The doctors said my son had some fluid in his lungs :(

Alexandria, wow, thats awesome! Thats what i keep telling myself, every pregnancy is different. My boyfriend is keeping me on a straight headed thinking. Like getting my son and niece in preschool/day care, because taking care of them is stressful, you know toddlers always fighting... I just want to add on to my family, soon. because i dont want to be pregnant getting close to my 30's and the preeclampsia worsen or something, ya know?

Patrese, i have my annual lady check up in August. So if my bf and i decide we should just go for it, im going to have them take it out! if not maybe getting close to the end of the year i will have it taken out. GOOD LUCK! how old is your child?

My mom was 21- 22 when she was pregnant with me and she had preeclampsia. She did not have another child until she was 35 and had not only preeclampsia again, but gestational diabetes. If you choose to have another baby any time soon, please see a very good doctor, stay closely monitored and be very strict with your diet. Also stay hydrated! When I was pregnant I went into preterm labor three times before I finally gave birth at 36 weeks because it was hot summer time and I was not staying hydrated.

I am almost 22 and have a 17 month old I can not relate with the preeclampsia, but I to am having baby fever and am on the IUD. I too know how it feels to be young and wanting children that aren't to far in age. Just remember no pregnancy is the same my aunt had preeclampsia with her second child, but her third was fine. I really is just managing your food, stress level, and how much you push yourself sometimes it does just happen, but you fearing the fact that you will get it again is always going to be there, but as I said before remember every pregnancy is different.

I cannot relate to the preeclampsia, but I'm 20 and think about having a second one also.
