I just found out I have herpies..and I have a two year old child I don't want her to get it what can I do to prevent her from having this painful virus

Last night I went to the hospital to what I thought was for a cutt down in my vajj area...to my surprise it was a brake out not all bad from what u see on the net my main concern is my daughter,I don't know how long I've had it or anything I don't want my daughter to be affected by this....what can I do so this won't happen to her

If it's vaginal herpes, you should be pretty safe. It's obvious things, like don't share underwear (doubt that's an issue with a 2yr old :P) and don't let her touch your genitals (dur :P). Wash your hands every time after you touch your genitals, that sort of thing. Mostly common sense stuff.

If it's the *common* herpes virus (usually breaks out around your mouth, but you can have breakouts in other areas), then the main concern is that she doesn't touch any open sores and that you wash your hands any time you touch them. Avoid kissing on the lips, especially when you have a sore, don't share straws, etc. Basically avoid sharing spit in any way :P Most people have the common herpes virus. You can ask your doctor about it the next time your in. I think that young kids get a vaccine for herpes...but I really can't remember and don't feel like looking it up right now :P You can look through your daughters vaccination information and find out :)
