Well what you are doing is child abuse so it would be in your best interest to find a different form of discipline.

Try a rewards chart, taking away things she loves, banning TV, there are plenty of other options other than beating her.

ETA: You will also note that I said for you to talk to her (not tell her off) and also LISTEN to her. Have a conversation and really listen to what she has to say.
You haven't said how old she is so the level of conversation will be dependent on her age.

If you're repeatedly "beating" her then you may have to try another form of discipline as it doesn't seem to be working. You'd be amazed at how actually talking to our children can make a difference. I'm not saying you do the talking/shouting I'm talking about a conversation where you actually listen to your child.
