my daughter started daycare at 10 weeks when i went back to work and she adjusted very well. i work at the same center so for me it wasn't a hard decision since i was just down the hall from her.

if you are going to start your child in daycare during their first year of life the best time developmentally is between 3-9 months because separation and stranger anxiety really sets in at about 9 months. but if you have been sending your child to be with the same 1 or 2 teachers for the 6 months before that happens, he will trust those teachers just as much as you.

My daughter loves her teacher and gives her a huge grin when i drop her off every morning and they are best friends all day, but as soon as i come in at the end of the day she is so happy to see mommy.

all i can say is trust your gut feeling and do whatever you feel is ringht. I wenr back to work when my daughter was 7weeks old (i worked in childcare and i was in the room with her) but now i am working with people with disabilities and she goes to daycare one day a week and i honestly believe it is good fer her... she need that time away from me to socialise. Your son wont resent you for goint back to work and u may benefit from some time to yourself as well :)
