I am a firm believer in expanding kids horizons - I put my daughter in everything I can. She does soccer, t-ball, dance, gymnastics, clogging, cheerleading, art, theater and singing. She catches bugs, has water play, swims, rides bikes etc. Go down to your local recreation center or city office and pick up a schedule of things going on in your community that you could do together or where he could meet new kids. Even if you can't afford to enroll your son in a lot of things usually the community has free activities to expand kids social horizons. Like Kim said take him to the park, or kick around a ball with him - take him to the library for story hour. See if there are any carnivals or festivals around that have multiple things for him to look at so you can get an idea of what he really enjoys!
