Hi everyone,
So I have been living in a new area for just over a year. We have no friends or family here. My husband works 12-13 hour shifts, and I am a stay at home mom going through school online. I have tried to make friends here, but hasn't exactly panned out. Our neighborhood has few families and not very sociable. I have met a few potential friends, but no 'real' friends. I've taken my son to the library for story time, and the moms I have met don't seem interested in making friends. They are there for their kids.
I need friends. Everyone I know and have met in our new area work and don't have a lot of spare time.
How can I make friends in a new area?

I could see what the school offers. There's a campus not too far from me. My husband is military so I started attending University of Phoenix so that way I don't have to transfer credits every time we move. But the campus isn't too far from me, so I could look into classes on that campus or see what programs and or clubs they have. Thank you for the idea. I had never considered that. =D

maybe there is a way to go to class in an actual college setting. Im also in school but my kids go to school while im in class. Even though ive lived in the same area since i was born since ive had my children i dont speak to many people anymore. my boyfriend also works a lot and late shifts so we rarely have time. but again i think the school setting would help a lot even if its part time in class and part time online.
