I did this year for my kiddos was took a picture and put the picture in a signing board (I got them at walmart in the picture frame area) and had everyone that came sign it, now they are hanging up in the living room. For my 3 year old daughters birthday I did a bug theme. We made the invitations as a lady bug, and we did dirt cupcakes

Any ideas for two boys? Mine are six years and six days apart (they're turning 7 and 1 this year).

I would stay away from themes and go for flowers, a garden maybe and also get an extra small cake (some places will give free for 1st b-day like walmart) for your 1yr old. If you want a theme maybe carebears or princesses. You can have ballons for your 5yr olds chair and the baby's high chair to take pics separtly and together. You would want to make sure that the guests know its for both, but if your having your 5 yr olds friends over make sure to let them know that if they want to bring something that it should be just for your older daughter. Good luck you'll have your hands full, just make memories of each of them then It will be special no matter what!!
